KARACHI: A local court Saturday extended interim bail of former Sindh home minister and rebellious Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza till July 4.
The bail was extended in a case regarding rioting and obstructing police work.
Mirza, who was already facing multiple cases on charges of creating violence in Badin, was booked in another case by Karachi police last month for forcibly climbing on an armoured personnel carrier of police, from where he delivered his speech and allegedly threatened police officers.
In a statement recorded at Aram Bagh police station, he said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lawyers tried to manhandle him that is why he climbed on police vehicle for his safety.
The judicial magistrate extended the interim bail of Zulfikar Mirza till July 4 and adjourned the hearing of the case.
