ZTE is all set to release its flagship smartphone Nubia Z11 simultaneously in China and the United States.
It was announced on Friday by Nubia Vice president Ni Fei. The Z11 was designed for the US, and the company will release slightly altered models in each market, reports the South China Morning Post, though no actual release date was provided.
ZTE is currently the world’s sixth biggest smartphone maker, according to Counterpoint Research, thanks mainly to sales in the company’s homeland and the US, where in quarter two Strategic Analysis said it was the fourth most shipped smartphone brand.
Rumours circulated last week showing rendered images of the Z11 with a bezel-less, 5.2-inch screen. The photos were reported by GSM Arena, who said the Z11 would come with a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GM of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage, though this has not been confirmed.
ZTE has traditionally sold sub-$200 smartphones in the US, but this year has been pushing premium offerings like the Axon Pro.
