QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri on Sunday said that the government and people of Balochistan strongly rejected the statement of Indian Prime Minister Narindra Modi over Balochistan situation.

There was big difference between the situations of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and Balochistan, he said addressing different ceremonies and programmes held in connection with Independence Day celebrations here at Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Bugti Stadium Quetta & Balochistan Assembly premises, and Quaid-e-Azam Residence Ziarat.

Commander Southern Command Lt-General Aamir Riaz, provincial ministers and senior civil and army officials were present.

The Chief Minister said: “A handful of miscreants, who are playing in the hands of Indian intelligence agency, have been involved in anti-peace activities in Balochistan. People of Balochistan are loyal and patriot, they love Pakistan and they never supported nefarious designs of enemies of Pakistan.”

He said the arrest of a serving officer of Indian Navy had proved that India had launched an unconventional war against Pakistan.

“Indian is behind terrorism, militancy and anti-peace activities in Balochistan,” he said, adding that nefarious designs of the enemies of Pakistan would be foiled at any cost.

“Situation is very different as people of Indian Held Kashmir want freedom from India and Indian armed forces have been victimizing them of brutality and violence,” Zehri said.

But in Balochistan, he added, the people loved Pakistan and they wanted to live within jurisdiction and framework of the country.

“You cannot declare it as freedom fight if few misguided youth have been waging militancy and involved in anti-peace activities in Balochistan.”

He said the people of the province truly loved Pakistan and they were patriot Pakistanis.

Chief Minister Zehri said the enemies of Pakistan were involved in militancy and terrorism in Balochistan after China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects were announced. “Indian spy agency, Research and Anylisis Wing (RAW), and other enemies of the country are involved in funding militants to disrupt peace and stability in Balochistan,” he added.
