ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) third amendment Ordinance 2021 was issued.
Under the NAB amendment ordinance, cases of cheating and fraud had been returned to the NAB, while the Modarba cases had also been handed back to the anti-graft watchdog.
Asif Zardari, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif will not get any relief from the NAB ordinance. All the cases filed earlier will continue.
According to the ordinance, it will apply from October 6 and all cases of fraud before October 6 will be able to heard by NAB. Old cases of fake accounts will continue under the ordinance.
Under the ordinance, the authority to remove chairman NAB from office was withdrawn from the Supreme Judicial Council. The term of NAB chief will be four years and the authority to remove him from the office will be the president of Pakistan.
