Zardari released on bail after submission of surety bonds

ISLAMABAD: PPP Co-chairperson and ex-president Asif Ali Zardari has been released on bail from custody after the submission of surety bonds worth Rs20 million here on Thursday.

Zardari was shifted to the Bilawal House from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

Earlier on Wednesday, the former president was granted bail by a Islamabad High Court’s special bench on medical grounds in the mega money-laundering corruption and Park Lane cases.

Zardari, last week, had submitted a petition seeking bail on health grounds.

On June 10, NAB had arrested the former president following cancellation of pre-arrest bail.
