CALIFORNIA: YouTube has removed more than 1 million videos that provide false information about the coronavirus.
YouTube’s management said the content of the videos was checked based on the views of other health experts, including the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control.
The information about coronavirus in the videos was inaccurate, harmful and obscure. YouTube said more than 500 hours of content are uploaded to its platform every minute.
YouTube management states that all videos have been removed since February 2020.
The social media platform also removed thousands of videos for violating US election-related policies, with 77 per cent of videos deleted before 100 views were completed.
