LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the youth would have to play an active role in meeting the numerous challenges facing the country. He was addressing a mega educational expo at the International Islamic University organized by the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT).

Sirajul Haq said that the country could not advance on the road to progress only due to the misdeeds of the rulers.  He said that some people were talking of making Pakistan a secular and liberal state which was tantamount to betraying the martyrs of the Pakistan movement.

He said it was due to the blunders of the rulers that Bangladesh came into being.  The rulers had secured huge loans and every child of the country was under heavy debt. “We can see the Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber P. but we don’t see Pakistan anywhere’, he added.

He said that even today, the rulers were looking up to Britain and the US for guidance. VIP culture prevailed in the country and the rulers were economic, ideological and political terrorists and had divided the nation into groups.

Sirajul Haq said the JI wanted a change in the country, and added that it was imperative to be a revolutionary to make the country prosperous and developing.  He said the JI was the first to raise voice against corruption. It had staged train march and had now approached the court against corruption.

Slating the Sindh law restricting change of religion, Sirajul Haq said this law was against the constitution. He said that many of the Holy Prophet’s Companions had embraced Islam when they were below 18.  He reiterated his call to Asif Ali Zardari to immediately repeal the law.

The JI chief said that Pakistan would be free from corruption only when the JI came to power. He further said that the JI on coming to power, would provide free education to girls, besides pen and books to the youth. Interest free loans would be given to the youth for business, unemployment allowance to the jobless youth,

He congratulated the IJT for organizing a grand Educational expo.
