KARACHI: The Martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali (R.A) is being observed today (21st of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak) across Pakistan with religious fervour and reverence amid tight security.
Special robots will be used for bomb-sweeping at the central procession from Numaish Chowrangi on MA Jinnah Road to Kharadar via Saddar.
The robots, gifted by US and Britain to Sindh Police, can also be used to diffuse improvised explosive devices (IEDs). These special robots are controlled through specialized vans.
Mobile phone services are also likely to be suspended throughout the day besides an already announced ban on pillion riding.
While in Lahore, a Tazia procession will be taken out from Mubarik Haveli Chowk Nawab Sahib which after passing through Mochi Gate, Bazaar Hakiman, Paniwala Talab, Rang Mehal, and Bhatti Chowk will culminate at Karbala Gamay Shah near Lower Mall before Maghrib prayers.
