KARACHI: Yoam-e-Ali (R. A), Mehfil-e-Shabeenas and all other religious gatherings that are not ‘Farz’ have been banned during the holy month of Ramazan.
In this connection, a notification has been issued here on Tuesday by the Sindh Home Department.
The notification reads: ” All religious activities during the holy month of Ramazan with gathering of people like Majalis & Jaloos for Shahdat-e-Imam (R. A), Religious Rallies/Gatherings & Mehfil—e-Shabeenas being not farz shall not be held.”
The provincial government has taken the decision to encourage social distancing to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday said that the virus infections in the province had come down to 8.1 per cent from 12 per cent during the past 24 hours.
In a video message, the chief minister said that a total of 4,112 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours and of them 335 came positive, which is 8.1 per cent of the all tests.
He said that the infections in Sindh had reached 5,291 while seven patients had died from the virus over the past 24 hours.
Today 37 more patients recovered and discharged from various hospitals in the province, he added.
