COLOMBO: Start leg spinner Yasir Shah has become first Pakistani bowler to take 50 wickets in Test cricket in just nine matches.
Yasir Shah surpassed great Waqar Younis and Mohammad Asif to achieve this record by taking the wicket of Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews.
Waqar Younis hold this record of completing half century of Test wickets in 10 matches, with Muhammad Asif and Shabbir Ahmad of Pakistan also share the record with him.
He has also become 5th spinner of the world to climb this mount.
However, record for quick 50 wickets in Test Cricket hold by Charles Thomas Biass Turner of Australia who completed his 50 wickets in just eight matches.
