The head of the agency made the appeal during his two-day visit to Afghanistan. He said that the world is currently focused on the ongoing war in Ukraine, but it is important to continue to show practical solidarity with Afghanistan.

Last month, the European Union has announced to open embassy in Afghanistan with a limited staff.

According to the foreign news agency, European Union spokesperson Peter Stano said that the embassy is being opened for humanitarian aid in Afghanistan because the country is facing humanitarian crisis.

He said that the Taliban government has not been recognized by the European Union and our minimum presence in Kabul should not be seen as any kind of recognition.

The spokesperson said it has been decided to ensure the limited presence in Kabul for the delivery of aid.
