ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has said
that the western media had been defending the Israeli atrocities being committed against Gazans.
Speaking at Margalla Dialogue here on Wednesday in Islamabad, Kakar said that the carnage against innocent civilians in Gaza by Israel cannot be justified.

He reiterated that Pakistan will continue to play its role in international peace. The OM added the country is facing challenges on its western border.
Prime Minister Kakar questioned the prolongation of the Kashmir issue. He said that a solution would have to be found eventually.
The prime minister further added that UN resolutions on the Kashmir issue already exist. He desired cordial relations between Pakistan and India. He added a large number of Hindus and Sikhs reside in the country and all religions are respected.
Speaking to the audience, Kakar further said that Pakistan is looking to the east to boost trade. While mentioning that trade and corridors will benefit the economy, he added that the country has many opportunities to connect with Central Asia.
Other speakers including interim Foreign Minister Pakistan Jalil Abbas Jilani, former US ambassador Robin Raphels, Deputy Director at CICR Qin Tian, and Senator Mushahid Hussain also spoke on the occasion.
