Wasim Akram celebrates his 49th birthday

LAHORE: Legendary pacer and former skipper of Pakistan Wasim Akram, is celebrating his 49th birthday on Wednesday.

Akram was born on June 03, 1966 in Lahore, and he has turned 49 today.

International Cricket Council (ICC) Hall of Famer, Wasim Akram is considered as the most successful left arm fast bowler in the world.

He is the second leading wicket taker in One Day International Cricket with 502 and was the first to take 500 wickets in this form of the game.

Akram has played 356 ODI’s, 104 Test matches. He took 414 wickets with the average of 23.62 in longest format of the cricket.

Wasim retired from international cricket back in 2003 and soon after retirement he stepped in commentary.

He is also coaching different club level team currently.

Wasim Akram was also part of World Cup winning squad in 1992 and was the man of the match of the final match against England.
