Pakistan Team head coach Waqar Younis rejected all the rumors of resignation which were circulating past a few days.
“I never resigned nor am I planning to resign in the future,” Waqar told Express News, adding that he was not happy with media reports which claimed that he threatened the players to quit if they didn’t perform.
With Asia Cup and the World T20 due in the next few months, Waqar said everyone should stand with team to support them for the mega event.
He added that he cannot think about leaving the team at this stage.
Pakistan lost the first ODI of the three-match series with New Zealand. The second ODI washed out due to rainfall leaving the third ODI to pick the winning team.
“With Pakistan Super League (PSL), Asia Cup and world T20 which will be hosted in India, Head coach cannot leave Pakistan’s side. Pakistan lost to New Zealand in T20 series with 2-1 score followed by losing first match of the three-match ODI series led to rumors of Younis’s resignation in the media.”
