National Assembly approves long-awaited 26th constitutional amendment bill

ISLAMABAD: The no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan was successful in the National Assembly, after which he ceased to be the Prime Minister of the country and at the same time became the first Prime Minister of the country to be removed through mistrust.

Earlier, voting on no-trust motion was held after Speaker and deputy speaker of National Assembly had resigned from their offices here late Saturday.

Speaker Asad Qaiser and deputy speaker Qasim Suri had earlier resigned.

Asad Qaiser handed over the Speakership to PML-N’s Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq conducted voting on the no-trust motion.
