ROSEAU: Adam Voges on Thursday scored a century on his debut as Australia scored 132 runs lead against the West Indies in the first Test in Dominica.
Voges became the 20th Australian player who hit a century on debut. Australia scored 280 runs for the loss of nine wickets on the second day. Voges was 114 not out at the interval with Josh Hazlewood on 17.
Voges was the only batsman untroubled by Bishoo, whose previous best Test figures were 5-90 against Bangladesh in 2011.
Australia’s lead is potentially match-winning given the turning pitch and the slow outfield but at least Bishoo gave the West Indies hope. He took three wickets in the first session, collecting the prize scalps of Steve Smith, Shane Watson and Brad Haddin.
