PARIS: Europe has observed Victory in Europe (VE) Day to commemorate its success in World War II. This day is celebrated in connection with the end of the WW-II on May 7th , 1945 when Nazish had surrendered and the war in Europe had over.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon along with leaders from eastern Europe celebrated the VE ceremonies in Poland. Poland President Bronislaw Komorowski and Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko were also present in the ceremony. The commemoration began with a 21- gun salute. US Secretary of State John Kerry joined the ceremony in Paris, laying a wreath at the Arc de Triomphe.
The event was held across the Europe to mark 70 anniversary of the end of world war-II. Ceremonies were being held in Paris, London, Berlin and Washington. Moscow would hold the event on Saturday.
