KARACHI: Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar says there is vast scope for Islamic Banking in Pakistan and the government is encouraging those interested in this field.
He was addressing the launching of Islamic Index at Karachi Stock Exchange on Wednesday. The Finance Minister said Islamic Index will have positive impact on stock exchange. He said now the business of shares can be carried out according to Sharia.
He said there are numerous opportunities of investment in Islamic Banking in Pakistan. He said foreign investors are taking interest in investing in Pakistan due to prudent policies being pursued by the Government.
Ishaq Dar stated that current economic situation of Pakistan is quite stable. He said foreign investors are taking interest in investing in Pakistan due to prudent policies being pursued by the Government.
He said the government did not seek any foreign assistance for earthquake victims and ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan tribal region.
To a question, Dar said fulfillment of energy needs is vital for country’s progress and the projects to generate 14,000 megawatts of electricity are underway.
