Vast oil, gas reserve discovered in Mardankhel

HANGU: Hungarian company MOL has discovered vast reserves of oil and gas in Mardankhel area of Hangu.

A statement released by MOL says, about 40 million cubic feet of natural gas and 3,500 barrels of crude oil is expected to be drilled from the reserves every day.

The gas pressure of new reserves is 5,822 per square inch which shows that that it the reserve is vast. This is the seventh discovery by MOL in Till Block during the last 13 years.

MOL’s regional advisor Ali Murtaza Abbas informed that exploration at well in Mardankhel started in September 2014 and that the pressure of the discovered gas reserves is immense. The company is taking measures to include this discovery in national supply system soon, he added.
