WASHINGTON: The United States on Tuesday said it was withdrawing forces from Afghanistan.
The US also praised the promise made by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to begin releasing Taliban prisoners.
Last month, the US had signed a peace deal with Taliban in Doha.
However, last week just five days after a peace agreement was signed between Taliban and the US, the insurgent group launched attacks, killing at least 20 Afghan soldiers in Kunduz and Uruzgan provinces.
