ISLAMABAD: The United States has now realised that it could not leave Afghanistan like it did in past as it has to play a role in the war-torn country even after departure, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says.
Addressing a presser here on Monday, the foreign minister said that the US cannot just pack bags and leave the war-torn country like in the past.
Washington still has a role to play in the region after leaving Kabul, he added. He said that he was pleased to know that Washington had realised that they must have a plan of withdrawal supporting reconciliation and peace.
