BERLIN: A United States F-16 on Tuesday crashed in Southern Germany and the pilot managed to survive. He sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Police said the jet crashed in a wooded area near the city of Bayreuth in Bavaria state. The reason of the crash was not immediately clear.
Police further said that the pilot managed to eject with a parachute and suffered minor injuries. “The crash site is in an area that is difficult to reach. Emergency services and the fire brigade are trying to get to it to put out the fire,” police added.
