WASHINGTON: A US court has fined a man over shot-down drone in California.
The drone was built and flown by Eric Joe, was shot down by Brett McBay in November 2014. McBay claimed the drone was over his property and said that he believed it was being used to spy on him.
In legal papers to support his claim Joe included GPS data which, he said, showed that the machine was hovering over a walnut orchard owned by his parents, not the property of their neighbor McBay, when it was shot-down.
The court said that McBay “acted unreasonably” in shooting the craft whether it was over his property or not.The court awarded Joe 850 dollars for damages.
