He said that the Muslims all over the world were one Ummah but the enemy wanted to create dissent among them. He said the survival of the Ummah lay in respect for one another and uniting against the secular and liberal forces. While replying to questions from the visiting Ulema, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said that the JI had always desired unity among the religious parties. He said the JI would like cooperation among all the religious parties in the next elections to be able to confront liberal, secular elements.  He said the Milli Yakjehti Council needed to be expanded further and added that the JI was already striving for that.

Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said that the JI would never be a party to violence in the country and would continue its efforts for solving the problems facing the country and the nation through democratic process.

He said that each and every Pakistani would stand behind the armed forces for the defense of the motherland and the case of any adventure from India, the nefarious designs of  the enemy would be foiled. The JI Foreign affairs wing chief Abdul Ghaffar Aziz, while reviewing the prevailing international situation, said that the US and Russia were playing a dangerous game in the Middle East and the Muslim rulers should understand the enemy designs of pitting Muslims states against one other. On the occasion, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees presented copies of two of his books to each member of the delegation. —INP
