Out of favour batter Umar Akmal in a desperation move presented his case before the ruling Sharif family in order to make Pakistan comeback.
Akmal last represented Pakistan in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in 2019, where he failed to impress with the bat.
Since then, he had a mixed performance in domestic seasons.
Despite, having under-performed in the last season, the 33-year-old believes he wasn’t treated fairly by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials.
“The PCB wasn’t listing to my concerns,” he told Samaa TV. “After Allah, I have faith in the Sharif family. Every individual has personal connections, and I am grateful to Mian Nawaz Sharif for consistently making time for me. I approached him with a request, showcasing my entire performance.”
Akmal was off the view that he wasn’t given the proper cricket to prove his metal.
