Umar Akmal approached by former Test cricketer for fixing

Pakistan middle order batsman Umar Akmal has said he was approached by a match-fixer during the ongoing Global T20 League in Canada.

According to reports, the 29-year-old was approached by former Pakistan cricketer Mansoor Akhtar.

Akhar who currently resides in the United States is an official of the Winnipeg Hawks, whom Akmal is representing during this year’s tournament.

Akmal said he informed the authorities about Akhtar who approached him to be involved in corruption. The right-handed batsman said he informed the Pakistan Cricket Board and then officials of the Global T20 League.
