TEL AVIV: Two people have been gunned down while five others were injured in a attack on a pub in Tel Aviv city of Israel.

Sources said that two of the injured were in critical condition, while three others were out of danger zone. Security forces and emergency teams rushed to the site. Police detained a suspect near the site of the shooting. The attacker managed to escape from the scene.

Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai said that at this stage the municipality had “no special instructions” and asked the public to enable the security services to do their work.

“We’re still at the beginning of the incident and I hope those responsible get caught,” he said.

An eyewitness to the shooting spoke of only one shooter, who he described as “light-skinned and not Eastern looking,” carrying an M-16.
