Two political groups clashed in Shah Faisal Colony – Karachi

A person reportedly received wounds following clash between two political groups on Sunday night in densely populated Shah Faisal Colony of Karachi.

The violent clash was occurred between workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Muhajir Qaumi Movement (MQM) which resulted injuring of one person in Shah Faisal Colony No. 3. The clash spread tension among the residents while traders started shutting their shops.

Sources said that the situation was brought under control after arrival of heavy contingents of law enforcement agency but there was no report of any arrest received as yet.

Moreover, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Zone, Muneer Shaikh, confirmed that tensions were present in the area but law and order situation is under control.

It should be mentioned that workers of both political parties had also clashed during local government (LG) election yesterday in Landhi area.
