KARACHI: Two peacocks were found dead in their cage in Karachi Zoo on Tuesday due to the prevalent heatwave in Karachi.

According to zoo sources, two peacocks were found dead in their cage with postmortem report suggesting the cause of death as heatstroke.

“We have lost only two peafowl. The immediate reason for the birds’ death is heatstroke, though they did have some kind of intestinal inflammation,” said Syed Aqeel Tazeem Naqvi, additional zoo director.
