ISLAMABAD: United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has voiced a concern that two million people – mostly Muslims among them-  are at a risk of becoming stateless as a result of the Citizenship Amendment Act passed by New Delhi.

The UN chief stated this during an interview with a local news channel.

Asked if he was personally worried about the growing discrimination against miniorities living in New Delhi, the UN chief replied ‘of course’.

Earlier on Monday, Antonio Guterres had said that the rising Islamophobia is intolerable.

The UN chief made these remarks while speaking at a presser alongside Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
