RAWALPINDI: At least two people including a woman died and several others affected of consuming toxic food during wedding ceremony here on Saturday.
Police said that wedding guests consumed food at walima ceremony in Kallar Syedan area of Rawalpindi which turned contaminated due to unknown reasons.
One person died instantly while several others were affected and shifted to hospital after their condition deteriorated.
During treatment at hospital another 40-year-old woman hailing from Gujar Khan expired raising death toll to two.
Some among the affectees were also stated to be in critical condition and it was feared that death toll could rise further.
