BAHAWALPUR: Two death row convicts have been hanged till death in Sahiwal and Bahawalpur jails in Tuesday’s wee hours.
The convict, Muhammed Ashraf was sent to gallows for assassinating a man, Shehzad Fareed, in 1994 over a trivial issue.
Finding him guilty on the murder count, the local judge awarded him death penalty in 1995.
Another hanging scheduled at 05:30 hours today in the city’s central jail, has been put on hold after reconciliation agreement reached between the two parties.
On the other hand, another convict Jumma khan murdered his mother in law over family feuds. He was hanged till death in Bahawalpur central jail.
