ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday defended Qatar and said he intends to “develop” close ties with Doha hit by sanction from Saudi Arabia and its allies.
Speaking at Iftar-dinner here, President Erdogan said, “We find that the sanctions taken against Qatar are not good.”
Erdogan vowed to continue close ties with Qatar like other friendly countries that had supported Turkey in difficlit times, refering to last year’s failed coup attempt by FETO.
He added that isolating Qatar would not resolve any problem.
