Turkey government formally resigns to form new govt

ANKARA: Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu resigned from his post in a procedural move post parliamentary election for the formation of new government, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s office said on Tuesday.

President office said that Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accepted resignation of Turkish Prime Minister, however, he would remain in his post until formation of a new government.

It is noteworthy to mention here that Turkey is now entering into phase for formation of coalition government after failure of ruling political party to gain solid majority in the parliament election.

Thirteen years long parliamentary majority of Justice and Development Party (AKP) concluded post recent election in Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had said that no political party is having position to handle alone full power in the country after election result.

It should be mentioned that all three leaders of major political parties reached in Turkish parliament had announced not to form coalition government during their electoral campaigns.
