Responding to Trump’s statement, Iran’s spiritual leader Ayatollah Khamenei announced that he would not hold talks with the United States, saying that talks with the United States would not be sensible and respectful.
The Supreme Leader of Iran said that the reason for refusing to negotiate is that our experience tells us, Iran has made many concessions in the past, but the United States broke these agreements, talks should not be held with such a government.
“If the United States threatens our security, we will put their security at risk,” Khamenei said.
