LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Friday said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government has promoted transparency and high standard in the execution of development projects and funds of billions of rupees have been saved through this policy.
Talking to MNA Raza Hayat Haraj who called on him here, he said selfless service to the people is the mission of the government and a number of public welfare projects are being implemented speedily.
Punjab Chief Minister said it is the agenda of the PML-N government to bring deprived segments into mainstream of development and all possible measures are being taken for this purpose.
Shehbaz Sharif said national resources were being spent on the provision of basic amenities to the masses, adding that under the policy of balanced development, mega projects are being completed in backward areas expeditiously.
The Chief Minister said people of the province are fully benefitting from the projects completed in education, health, infrastructure and social sector.
He said transparency, standard and speed in the execution of projects are the hallmark of PML-N government, adding that billions of rupees are being spent on the welfare of masses and provision of education, health and basic facilities to the citizens.
Shehbaz said aim of progress and prosperity of the country will be achieved through adopting the golden principle of honesty, trust and hard work.
He said transparency, merit and good governance have been promoted in the province and there is no other example of completion of projects with transparency from their start to completion in the history of the country.
He said sincere efforts of government to resolve problems of the country are yielding positive results and the day is not far when Pakistan will overcome all its crises.
The Chief Minister said China is making investment of 36 billion dollars in energy projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and power projects are being set up in all the four provinces.
He said due to completion of these projects by 2017, thousands of megawatt electricity would be added to national grid which will help control loadshedding.
He said the elements opposing public welfare projects are enemies of progress and prosperity of the country.
The Chief Minister said those who criticized metro bus project were rejected by the people in general elections of 2013 and local bodies elections as well.
He said Orange Line Metro Train is a project of the whole country and a splendid gift to the people. He said Punjab government is implementing the policy of balanced development of urban and rural areas.
The Chief Minister said campaign for the elimination of child labour is continuing effectively and all concerned departments are working efficiently.
He said committees have been set up at district level for curbing child labour at brick kilns and these committees are working with commitment.
He said practical measures have been taken for ensuring hundred percent enrolment of brick kiln children in schools.
Shehbaz Sharif said he is personally monitoring the steps for eliminating child labour and this practice will be rooted out at any cost.
