KARACHI: Severe traffic jam occurred following a protest and procession on mainstream roads of Karachi here on Saturday evening.
Protestors in shape of rally blocked main M. A. Jinnah road to demonstrate against mass killing in Nigeria while traffic was being diverted to Capri Cinema towards Soldier Market and People’s round about.
A Shiite procession started from Rizvia Imam Bargah choked roads connecting Lasbela and Nazimabad while the traffic flow was being diverted to Teen Hatti and Nishtar road, police said. Moreover, traffic police officials also closed road towards Karachi Press Club.
The affected areas include Saddar, Parking Plaza, roads connecting to Mazar-e-Quaid, M. A. Jinnah road, Soldier Market, People’s Chawrangi, Lasbela and Nazimabad.
