Karachi: The traders have announced to reopen all markets from today after failure of talks with the Sindh government.

The traders held a meeting with the Sindh ministers at the Commissioner office. The traders walked out of the meeting after non-acceptence of their demands by the government.

Later, speaking to the media, traders’ leader Sharjeel Goplani said that the talks had failed with the government.

Sindh Tajir Ittehad Chairman Atiq Mir said that we would do business by opening shops full time. Now traders will do business 24 hours till Chand Raat, he added.

We had requested the commissioner to extend business hours but the provincial government rejected all our demands.

He said:” It is our right to do business and earn our livlihood during the Eid season.”

We are ready to get arrested, but will continue business following safety guidlines.

The traders said that the city markets should be allowed to open six consecutive days, adding that shopping malls be allowed to open like they are permitted in Punjab.
