Toxic sweet claims two more lives, death toll reaches to 22 in Layyah

LAYYAH: Two more people died of toxic sweet on Sunday and the death toll reached to 22 in Layyah.

According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the incident took place when a resident of Chak No-105 TDA namely Umar Hayat brought sweets from a shop owned by Tariq Mahmood and Khalid Mahmood located at Chowk-111 Morh Toil-Indus on the birth of his grandson and distributed it among the people of the area.

Police said that the shop, from where the sweets were purchased, has been sealed and a case has been registered.
