TOKYO: Tokyo stocks fell on Monday morning as investors turned to profit-taking following four days of gains, despite a positive lead from Wall Street and another gain in oil prices.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 0.44 percent, or 75.02 points, to 16,939.76 by the break, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares fell 0.82 percent, or 11.26 points, to 1,364.09.
