TOKYO: Tokyo shares opened lower Friday on renewed worries about the global financial system, with some hedge funds reportedly reducing their exposure to Deutsche Bank, questioning its strength.
The benchmark Nikkei-225 index dropped 1.28 percent or 213.76 points to 16,479.95 in early trade, while the Topix index of all first section shares fell 1.58 percent, or 21.19 points, to 1,322.06.
