ISLAMABAD: Today (Monday) is the last day for submission of nomination papers for coming Senate elections.
According to the schedule of the Election Commission, the preliminary list of candidates for the Senate elections will be released on February 16. More than 100 candidates across the country have submitted their nomination papers.
Big wrestlers have entered the arena for the Senate elections. Federal Minister for Information Shibli Faraz, Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, PPP leaders Yousuf Raza Gilani, Sherry Rehman and Farooq H Naik have submitted their papers.
PML-N leader Pervez Rashid, JUI-F leaders Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Sarfraz Bugti and Faisal Sabzwari also submitted their papers to the Election Commission.
