Three LHWs suspended on charges of negligence

MITHI, Jan. 30 (APP): Three Lady Health Workers (LHW) of district Tharparkar have been suspended on the directives of Commissioner Mirpurkhas.

They were suspended on the charges of negligence from duty, said Additional Commissioner Mirpurkhas, Nisar Ahmed Memon on Saturday.

The suspended LHWs are: Noor Zadi, Aaliya and Naimat. He also warned all LHWs and other relevant government officials and NGO to dispose off their duties with dedication and devotion in current situation or get ready to face stern legal action.

Speaking at a meeting regarding health situation in the district on Saturday, the Additional Commissioner Nisar Memon and Deputy commissioner Mirpurkhas, Khuda Dino Shoro said that Al-Mehdi Hospital Mithi and Korean Hospital Chhachhro were directed to provide health care facilities to ailing children up to five years of age of the district free of cast for next two months while more private sectors hospitals would also be asked to extend free health care to ailing children.

Efforts were being made for establishment of a special desk at civil hospital Hyderabad for children referred from Thar for tertiary care, they added.

Training in collaboration with welfare organization MCHIP would be arranged for working mid wives and interested literate girls of the district to enhance their capacities so that they could impart better health care to mothers and children and complement the efforts of government aimed at provision of better medical facilities to the population of the district,

He said that complete medical kits were provided to 642 lady health workers of the district.

Speaking at the occasion district health officer (DHO) Tharparkar Dr. Arjun Kumar said that to deal with dehydration issues in children, each LHW was given packets of oral re-hydration salts (ORS) for ailing children on demand while 50 thousand more packets of ORS would be arrived soon.

The Deputy Director Social Welfare Natho Khan Rahmon was directed to liaise with Hands, Thar Deep, Shifa, PPHI, MCHIP and other welfare organization working in health sector their assistance for provision of health care to needy people would also be sought.
