LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said the country is making a rapid progress and prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
He said darkness would be removed forever from the country with the completion of energy projects, adding that under the CPEC, investment of 36 billion dollar was being made in energy projects. Power projects were being set up throughout the country, including Sindh, Balochistan, KPK and Punjab, he added.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of the Pakistan Muslim League-N here on Sunday.
The chief minister said the Punjab government had ensured timely, transparent and quality completion of development projects and opponents could not prove corruption of even a single penny in development projects.
He said the Punjab government was writing a new history by completing development projects before the stipulated period.
The chief minister said on the one hand, the country had been put on a road to progress and prosperity while on the other hand, a conspiracy was being hatched against Pakistan by threatening a lockdown of Islamabad. “Those threatening to lockdown Islamabad are committing open enmity to Pakistan”, he maintained.
He said these defeatist elements were implementing the agenda of creating hurdles in the way of development and prosperity of the people of Pakistan. Threatening to lockdown of Islamabad was a conspiracy to close the doors of uplift of Pakistan, he added.
He said conscious people of Pakistan had rejected the defeatist elements at every level. Huge loss was caused to national economy as a result of politics of sit-ins and protest in 2014 and today.
Stopping the way of development through politics of sit-ins and protest was a great crime and a cruelty to 20 crore people of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif said and added that people will hold accountable those involved in stoppage of development process.
He said the CPEC was a game changer for Pakistan and its opposition was opposition to development of the country in a real sense. Conscious people of Pakistan will never allow anyone to stop the way of development, he added.
