Thousands attend funerals of martyred youth in IOK

In occupied Kashmir, despite restrictions imposed by the authorities, a sea of people including women and children participated in the funeral of two youth martyred by Indian troops in Islamabad district, today.

The troops martyred a Physiotherapist, Dr Burhan-ud-Din Ganai and Safdar Amin during a cordon and search operation at Bagander Mohalla in Bijbehara town of Islamabad district, today.

Thousands of people from different areas of Islamabad district participated in the funeral prayers of Dr Burhan-ud-Din at S K Colony in Islamabad town. Multiple rounds of funeral prayers were held to accomodat the huge rush of people. Dr Burhan was laid to rest amid high-pitched pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans.

Similar scenes were witnessed at Zirpora in Bijbehara where the other martyred youth, Safdar Amin, was laid to rest after multiple wound of funeral prayers.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown is being observed in the district to protest against the killing of the youth. The occupation authorities have imposed restrictions in Islamabad and Bijbehara towns and snapped internet service in the district.
