ISLAMABAD: Thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of a martyred youth, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, in Thokerpora area of Pulwama.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Shabbir Ahmed Dar along with three other youth was killed by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Futlipora area of Budgam on Thursday. Local people said that Shabbir’s face was badly damaged.
The participants of the funeral waved Pakistani flags and chanted pro-Pakistan, pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Shutdown was observed in Pulwama to mourn the killing of the youth. Complete strike was also observed in Pakherpora, Dalwan, Charar-e-Sharief and other adjoining areas in Budgam to mourn the killing of the youth.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of United Jihad Council Chief, Syed Salahuddin, in a statement issued in Srinagar paid rich tribute to the martyred youth. He also hailed the efforts of people of Kashmir for showing stiff resistance during military operations.
