KARACHI: Only five to six people will be allowed to observe ‘Aitkaf’ at a mosque, a joint statement of all Ulema and the government says.
Believers will sit in aitkaf around the world today before the Magrib prayers.
This year in the wake of ongoing coronavirus pandemic the ulema and the government had announced that not more than six people are allowed to observe aitkaf at large mosques while at small mosques only two to four people can sit.
The believers have to observe standard operating procedures during the aitkaf.
Aitkaf is observed during the last 10 days of Ramazan. A believer remained confined to a place inside a mosque. Women observe aitkaf at their homes.
Aitkaf had been a regular Sunnah (practice of the Holy Prophet PBUH).
After sighting the moon of Eidul Fitr, the Muslims end Aitkaf.
