ISLAMABAD: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the major terrorist attack in the Punjab capital on Monday proved the government’s failure to protect the life and property of the masses and serious security lapses.
Talking to the media outside the parliament on Tuesday, he said the suicide attack in the Punjab capital belied the government’s claims of having wiped out terrorism.
He said it was evident that the things were not under government’s control. He said the situation warranted that the government took the nation into confidence in this regard and explain its position.
He said the repeated terrorist attacks implied that law and order was not the priority of the government and all the ministers were busy in the defense of the ruling family.
To a question on US refusal to issue visa to Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, the JI chief said that Donald Trump’s policies would soon usher in the downfall of the United States as Soviet leader Gorbachev’s policies led to the downfall of the Soviet Union.
On the FATA issue, Sirajul Haq said there was consensus among the tribes for the merger of tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and on the abolition of the FCR and added that the government should not miss this golden opportunity for their merger.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra had a God-given opportunity to announce the merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the consent of ten million tribal people, he added.
