NEW DELHI: At least 10 people have been killed during religious celebrations outside a temple in Eastern India.
Chaos erupted toward the end of a 50,000-person queue as people tried to push forward when the temple gates opened in Jharkhand state.
Additional Director General of Police in Jharkhand said that the stampede at the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple in the state of Jharkhand erupted after pilgrims surged towards the building shortly after the doors opened. Dozens of people were also injured in the stampede.
