Taliban take control of a district in Afghanistan

KABUL: Afghan Taliban have taken control of the Chardara district in northern Kunduz province, Afghanistan.

Kunduz Provincial Council Chief Mohammad Yusouf Ayubi said that Taliban established control of the district after two days of attacks.

Provincial Police Chief Sayed Sarwar Hussaini said that reinforcements were being dispatched and an operation to retake the district was imminent.
